Unlike some firms that offer advice in this area of law, Jeremy Gordon does not offer fixed fee rates for road traffic advice and representation. We provide a professional yet personal, bespoke legal service, which is cost effective and achieves results. It is often very difficult to set out in advance exactly how much representation will cost, but it is sometimes possible to provide an estimate or capped fee.
Our lawyers undertake this work at an hourly rate from £175 to £650 plus VAT at senior lawyer/partner rates. If a case is concluded in one hearing at the magistrates’ court, the estimated total would be anywhere between £1,500 + VAT and disbursements and £7,000+ VAT and disbursements, depending on the level of experience of the lawyer carrying out the work and the number of hours required to prepare for the hearing. There may be circumstances where it is more cost effective to instruct a barrister for the court hearing. Like our lawyers, barristers charge rates based on experience and expertise but will typically agree a fee for a hearing. We would be happy to enquire and discuss with you, if necessary. Likewise, if it is necessary to instruct an expert, such as a doctor or vehicle examiner, these individuals’ fees will vary depending on their work and expertise. We will discuss and agree their fees with you before they are engaged.
